1. Abachi or Samba (Triplochiton Sceroxylon)
Abachi tree grows at the Western coast of Africa.
Abachi is certainly the best material for saunas for it has light
color with a variety of different shades, low heat conduction and
high wet resistance. This wood does not discharge any resin and
practically it does not have knots. It is not subject to deformations
and preserves its original appearance for quite a long time. Good
workability. Practically indispensable material for sweating shelves,
even when some different material is used to make the sauna itself.
2. Hemlok (Suga)
Hemlok is one of the most admired materials for saunas
of exclusive quality. It has a very nice-looking texture without
knots, and does not discharge any resin. All saunas made of this
material are de luxe class saunas.
3. Lime-tree
A very popular wood for making saunas in Russia.
Lime-tree is a leaf-bearing tree, so it does not discharge harmful
resin. Saunas of such wood are always distinguished by pleasant
odor characteristic only of lime-tree.
